Lucy Lapidus began making pottery when her three kids were still running around the house and all cylinders were firing. Twenty years later, she's still at the wheel creating gifts for her family, friends and community. A longtime member of Alexandria Clay Co-op, she loves the functional side of the craft: cups that feel comforting, bowls just right for soup, vases that show off their charming occupants. She loves experimenting with the layering of glazes on different types of clay, a whole world of its own.
Lucy's latest endeavor is imaginatively carved luminaries (candle holders). While they make for tedious work, they are creatively satisfying and bring lots of cheer with just a small tea light.
