Fluture (pronounced 'flute-TOUR-aay') means "butterfly" in the Moldavan language, which is the language of Chrysalis Vineyard’s assistant winemaker’s wife.

This woman-owned DMV 'local' wine is from Chrysalis Vineyards in Middleburg, Virginia. Made of Viognier grapes with 14-day skin contact and 1/3 fermentation in French oak, 2/3 in stainless steel. 

It gives aromas of white flowers and dried citrus rind and flavors of lemon pith & ripe green melon.

Other notable local highlight: the labels are original works of art by Marcel Deolazo. Marcel has a studio in the Torpedo Factory, Alexandria VA, which is an old munitions plant with over 75 art studios open to the public.
